Happy 10th day of the #12DaysofCampmas and today it’s all about Nathan! Nathan began his Easter Seals camp experience four years ago at the age of 16 at Camp Winfield.
Nathan, who has a moderate intellectual disability, has a few special memories from camp. His favourite thing is all the activities available, especially mini golf.
“The best things about camp is feeling independent and being away from home. I feel welcomed at camp. I’ve made many new friends from camp that I stay in touch with. I really enjoyed the one night that we slept in tents instead of the cabin.”
Nathan’s mom, Carla, shares, “As a parent it is great to have peace of mind that your child is somewhere safe and having a good time. It provides a nice break and I like knowing that Nathan is provided all the opportunities that any typical summer camp would offer.”
Thank you Nathan and Carla for sharing your camp story.
