Drop Zone Victoria registration now open!
Victoria’s CIBC Tower hosts Drop Zone September 11th to raise funds for Easter Seals. For the average Joe (or Joanne), philanthropist or thrill seeker, rappelling supports children with disabilities.
April 2, 2018 – Victoria, BC – Rappelling from the CIBC Tower in downtown Victoria isn’t just for hard-core climbers or rappellers, it’s for the average Joe or Joanne who care for those in need.
The 2018 Easter Seals Victoria Drop Zone kicks off registration today with a special message: Every day is a challenge for individuals with disabilities and the Drop Zone reminds us of this challenge and the need for support. Funds raised at the 2018 Victoria Drop Zone will go to support individuals with disabilities who benefit from Easter Seals programs and services.
Registration opens today for only $49 along with a fundraising commitment of $850. Participants are encouraged to register early and rally friends, colleagues, co-workers and family to support their fundraising.
“Easter Seals BC & Yukon is committed to helping improve the quality of life in our communities. It’s our hope that all individuals living with disabilities can live an active life, seek their potential and contribute to their communities,” says Charlene Krepiakevich, President and CEO, Easter Seals BC & Yukon. “The best part of our Drop Zone event is that participants get a chance to do the same thing by stepping outside their comfort zone, exploring their potential and rappelling down the office tower. It’s an amazing event to watch and participate in.”
Families from all over BC and the Yukon stay at Easter Seals House while their child or love one receives care and treatment at nearby medical facilities. No matter how long they plan to stay, families experience a warm welcome at Easter Seals House, offering a perfect home away from home.
Money raised from this event will also help fund the Easter Seals camp at Winfield this summer in the Okanagan Valley. Since 1968, Camp Winfield has provided an overnight summer camping experience for children, teens and young adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. In the last 50 years, over 35,000 individuals have experienced the transformative magic of Easter Seals Camps in B.C.
