Easter Seals Camps are held in three locations across British Columbia. Each location offers different activities to choose from.
Camp Shawnigan
2180 Shawnigan Lake Road, Shawnigan Lake
Located in the southern region of Vancouver Island, in the Cowichan Valley, right on the shores of Shawnigan Lake and only 35 minutes from Victoria.
Activities
Outdoor swimming pool, lake dock with slide, sailing, canoeing, ropes courses, climbing wall, amphitheater for entertainment, arts and crafts room, outdoor basketball court, in-ground trampoline.
How To Get Here
From Victoria: Camp Shawnigan is only 45 minutes from Victoria. Follow the Trans Canada Highway North for 28km. Then turn left on Shawnigan Lake Road and travel for another 10km. Camp Shawnigan will be on your left.
From Nanaimo: Camp Shawnigan is one hour from Nanaimo. Travel south on the Trans Canada Highway for 60 km and turn right on Cobble Hill Road (this road turns into Shawnigan Lake Road). Continue for 12 km and Camp Shawnigan will be on your right.
Camp Squamish
41015 Government Road, Brackendale, Squamish
Located one hour from downtown Vancouver, and 45 minutes from Whistler’s high alpine, Squamish is where the ocean meets the mountains.
Activities
Indoor pool, ropes courses, big swing, amphitheater for entertainment, BBQ hut, arts and crafts room, outdoor basketball court.
How To Get Here
From Vancouver: Camp Squamish is approximately 55 minutes from Vancouver. Take BC 1A/BC 99N. Turn right onto Taylor Way, following signs for Squamish/Whistler. Follow BC 99N to Garibaldi way in Garibaldi Highlands, Squamish. Turn left on Garibaldi Way and right onto Government Rd. Camp Squamish will be on the right.
Camp Winfield
1790 Davidson Road, Lake Country
Nestled in the heart of the Okanagan, Camp Winfield is conveniently located 30 minutes north of Kelowna and 30 minutes south of Vernon.
Activities
Outdoor swimming pool, waterslide, big swing, ropes courses, climbing wall, amphitheater for entertainment, arts and crafts room, outdoor basketball court, mini-golf, in-ground trampoline.
How To Get Here
From the airport: Camp Winfield is just over 10 minutes away from Kelowna Airport. Turning right out of the airport, follow Highway 97N for 6km. Turn left onto Okanagan Centre Road East, before turning left onto Davidson Road. The camp will be on your right in about 3km.
From Vancouver: Camp Winfield is about 4.5 hours away from Vancouver. Follow Trans Canada Highway 1 East towards Hope, from there, continue on to Highway BC 3 E for about 6km, after which time, you will continue on to Highway BC 5 N. Coming into Merritt, take exit 286 for BC 97C/BC 5-A toward Kelowna. Turn left onto BC 5-A. After 105km, take the left two lanes to merge onto Okanagan Hwy/BC-97 toward West Bank/Kelowna/Vernon. Once in Lake Country, turn onto Okanagan Centre Road East, before turning left onto Davidson Road. The Camp will be on your right in about 3km.
From Vernon: Take Hwy 97 South for approximately 28km. Turn right onto Robinson Rd, right onto Okanagan Centre Rd E, and then left onto Davidson Rd. The camp will be on your right in about 1.3km.
