Easter Seals House is a Home-Away-From-Home
Being as close to BC Childrens’ Hospital as you are, enabled us to walk back and forth for a month while our daughter was in ICU. Easter Seals House helped us so much. – William Corbett, parent and former guest
♥
Easter Seals House is a lifeline for thousands of families across BC and Yukon, that need access to Vancouver hospitals – helping relieve families of the stress and financial burden of finding somewhere to stay in an expensive, and unfamiliar city.
Offering affordable and comfortable short-term medical stays, Easter Seals House is a home-away-from-home and support network to approximately 12,500 guests that stay here each and every year.
The Garden at Easter Seals House Will Plant the Seeds for Healing and Restoration
Never underestimate the healing power of a quiet moment in the garden.
♥
The Garden Project plans include a children’s play space, a gathering space sheltered from the midday sun, a barbeque and eating area, and a quiet space for relaxation and reflection. Seasonal plants, shrubs and flowers will be dispersed among existing trees.

The garden will be an important place of rest and recreation for guests, and for participants of other Easter Seals programs.
How it Will Be Used
- For our guests – a retreat for quiet reflection, a hub for social gatherings, and a space filled with fun and laughter where children can forget about medical treatments and just play.
- For youth and young adults with disabilities – a space for our City Adventure Day Camp programming, and a space for learning and sharing ideas as part of our new Life-Skills Development program helping youth with disabilities navigate the complicated transition to adulthood.
- For our future sustainability – a vital space for engaging volunteers, connecting with existing donors and introducing potential new donors to our mission.
