At Easter Seals BC/Yukon, we strive to make camp as accessible as possible for all families. We aim for transparency in sharing with you the costs to provide exceptional camp experiences for all campers.
In 2025, each high-quality, memorable camp experience will cost us $3,600 per camper to deliver, covering everything from comfortable accommodations, specially-trained staff, and freshly-prepared meals to carefully designed programming and support.
The camp fees you see are significantly subsidized to ensure that more families can access the incredible benefits of camp.
Current Fee Structure:
Children Overnight Camp: $1,000
Adult Overnight Camp: $1,100
Autism Funding Unit (AFU): $1,500
The registration process found at the bottom of this page will provide you an opportunity to donate to cover a larger portion of these costs. Registration opens February 10, 2025.
Our costs are a result of our goal to provide a place where campers can have safe, fun and rewarding experiences while improving skills and character. A number of factors contribute to our ability to produce this experience.
Direct Care-to-Camper Ratio
At Easter Seals camps, we maintain an exceptional 3:1 camper-to-direct care ratio. Each staff member assigned to campers is fully dedicated to supporting those children. Additionally, we have numerous other team members onsite whose roles include running activities, providing medical care, and supporting the camp operations. Typically, our sites have around 30 staff members, and during children’s weeks, we host approximately 36-42 campers, ensuring a fantastic ratio for delivering quality care and enriching programming.
Fair Compensation for Nurses
Our nurses are with us throughout the summer and are compensated at fair market rates. While many camps rely on volunteer nurses or those working in exchange for recognition or stipends, we believe in paying our nurses fairly for their expertise and the hard work they bring to camp. Their dedication and knowledge are invaluable to creating a safe and supportive environment for our campers.
Accessibility and Inclusion
Inclusion at our camps means more than accessible programming—it extends to specialized equipment as well. At Camp Squamish, we offer a variety of lifts to ensure safe personal care options for campers, and Camp Winfield features an accessible pool lift. This vital equipment, combined with the skilled staff who operate it, plays a critical role in creating a truly inclusive camp experience for everyone.
Make Camp Possible for More Families
At Easter Seals, we rely on the generosity of our community to run our camps as we do not receive government funding to support these life-changing programs. Costs to operate our camps are expensive and contributions of any amount helps us deliver camp experiences to all families. Easter Seals also offers a significant subsidy program to help families who face financial barriers, enabling them to participate in the joy and growth that camp offers.
When you register for camp on CampBrain, you will have the opportunity to make an additional contribution. Every dollar helps fund our camps and our subsidy program, where we strive to deliver exceptional camp experiences for all families.
Registration opens February 10, 2025.
