Campers must have a BC or Yukon address.
Needs and Abilities Accepted
Our camps are designed to provide exceptional camping experiences for children with a wide range of disabilities and needs. Children whose only diagnosis is Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or Learning Disabilities are not eligible for our program. However, campers who have been diagnosed with any of the above in addition to other disabilities are eligible for our program.
Those with Chronic Mental Disorders/Psychoses, Emotional Disorders, or individuals whose behaviour could endanger themselves or other participants may not be suitable for the program. Easter Seals Camps do not have the facilities to support medically fragile individuals. We can, however, support children who require daily medical routines and medication.
Personal Support Workers
Easter Seals camps have a maximum supervision ratio of three campers for every counsellor. Should a camper’s care needs require one-to-one support, the families must provide a Personal Support Worker to accompany the camper to camp. For more information about a Personal Support Worker accompanying your camper please go to our PSW page.
Ongoing review and assessment
Camper applications and camper behaviour are reviewed and assessed throughout the camping season. As a result, a camper’s registration requirements may change at any time without notice. Easter Seals reserves the right to refuse a camper’s application. If you have questions about your camper’s eligibility, please get in touch with us at 1-800-818-4483 or camp@eastersealsbcy.ca
